The turquoise: semi - precious stones
|

Turquoise is the stone amulet of December and the
stone of birthday for the eleventh year of marriage. The turquoise
or the egg of the blackbird is a semi stone invaluable blue
carried by the Aztec Pharaons and Kings, therefore one of the
oldest known stones. It is the stone of the fifth year of
marriage.
Turquoise was discovered approximately 200 years before J. - C.
and was used considerably by the two Amerindians of the United
States and much of Indian tribes in Mexico. The style of Indian
jewels with turquoise are created with the money and is relatively
new. Certain people believe that this style of jewels was unknown
before 1880, when a white tradesman persuaded a craftsman Navaho
to use turquoise and the money to make jewels. Before that, the
Amerindians had made solid pearls turquoises, sculptures and
mosaics.
